PTC coverage over 2018

Kia ora all. Have been a bit slack this year with blog. However have continued to use facebook as a tool to share learning with public and students. "Uawanui Sustainability Class" - https://www.facebook.com/uawanuiproject/  - Covers numerous PTCs. This generally shows coverage of student engagement and learning.

Other evidence of Professional PTCs have been in attending PD on Raukumara forest and 1080 drops in  Mapara to extend my knowledge along with one keen student.
Worked with new staff to raise their understanding and development within the school.
https://www.facebook.com/uawanuiproject/videos/2130496960537585/ - Expert advice on estuaries.

Working with students during Kai Atua learning. Hangi preparations and cooking. Alternative learning experiences. Also part of a collabarotive effort to teach our students. All staff involved and working together to achieve a singular goal.

Planning and documentations increased this year. Took a leading role in Reports for Year 7-10. Data collection, analysis and use.

Key Objectives
Key Tasks to Achieve Objectives
Review: Was this Achieved: Report in Feb 2019
To gain an 100% pass rate for Environmental Sustainability

Teach the necessary literacy skills needed to pass and be ensure the students are able to express themsleves with the key vocabulary needed  this relates ot sustainability concepts and ideas.
No this was not achieved. Some of the writing proved too much. Option to discuss was also not taken up. Other options opffered were not taken. Students still lack the confidence to talk freely about the learning that was happening.
To gain 50% endorsement at merit or higher

Ensure all students know the expectations and criteria to gain Excellence
Ensure exemplars are on the walls and on the website
Develop checklists for the students so they can ensure they have done what is needed to pass at Excellence
Not achieved. This maybe a bit ambitious and not realistic. Will change this next year to gaining all 60-80 credits at NCEA Level 1-3 for selected students.
Will create a core group of students to perform tasks everyday. Will become cadets and remain in my class everyday. Campaigns, Marketingt, Trapping, Weedbusting and Water Testing.
Will work alongside students interested in doing more around Sustainability from Year 7-10.
Work with Alison and cadets to grow our capacity and success of students transitioning into work.
Alison to help with working with farms and outside providers.
Alison to support us in planting projects and activities we can get stuck into outside the classroom.
Worked very well. Moved two students in jobs for the holidays adn beyond.
More work needed to increase our overall capacity.

Planning in place for next year in the SPARK programme to lift our students ability to be mindful about their learning and what directions they want to take.
