Uawanui Sustainability

Uawanui Sustianability is designed to meet environmental needs and lift student engagement. Through hands on experiences and related tasks, students engage with the immediate environment in which they live.
Examples of activities include:

  • Pest Control 
  • Weed Eradication
  • Planting Natives
  • Using Testing kits to sample waterways
  • Using tools safely in a work place
  • Capture and handle eels, fish and other species found in the waterways and estuary
  • Field trips to bees and honey production sites. 
  • Habitat Restoration projects
  • Investigate local environmental issues
  • Conduct surveys to help with health checks of environments
  • Work with locals and wider community on restoration, conservation projects
  • Continue to grow and learn.
